SBI rights issue ruled out this fiscal

The Finance Ministry has ruled out any rights issue for State Bank of India this fiscal.

The actual amount of capital infusion into SBI and the instrument that would be used would be finalised by November 15, the Banking Secretary, Mr D.K.Mittal, said here today.

Mr Mittal indicated that capital infusion into SBI could happen through the preferential allotment route.

The Centre currently holds about 58 per cent stake in SBI.
