Nationalised bank sealed in Lucknow for not

Lucknow: A nationalised bank and six other commercial establishments in Hazratganj area here have been sealed by the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) for non-payment of property taxes.

While Indian Overseas Bank was sealed for not depositing Rs 3.60 lakh as tax dues, other establishments, including a bakery shop and an institute, for non-payment of dues ranging from Rs 3 to 6 lakhs, official sources said.

The Corporation had released a list of 10 big defaulters, including the state government's Estate department, which had dues of Rs 18 crore.

The Estate Department included top government buildings like Assembly, Mantri Awas, VIP guest house, Babu Bhawan and annexe building.
