Allahabad Bank introduces account portability

Allahabad Bank has introduced account portability facility to enable its customers transfer their accounts from one branch to another.

According to a statement issued by the bank, the “instant transfer of accounts” would provide portability of accounts with minimum manual intervention.

A customer who wishes to make use of this facility would have to submit a written request along with an unused cheque leaf at the home branch.

The account number would remain unchanged across the country for any number of transfers requested by a customer, the release said.
