Markets at new peak: Why Sensex, Nifty hit record closing highs

On BSE, top gainers include IndusInd Bank, ICICI Bank, ONGC, L&T, Maruti, Asian Paints and Axis Bank, with their stocks surging as much as 3.97 per cent. 25 out of 30 stock on BSE finished in green. On the NSE platform, sub-indices Nifty Private Bank, Bank and Financial Services logged major gains, up as much as 1.69 per cent.
